Ellwood Associates works with its clients on a full retainer basis in which a single fee covers our entire range of consulting services. We believe that a retainer structure enables us to be most effective as consultants because it facilitates our involvement with all aspects of a client’s investment program.

Distinguishable consulting attributes include the following:

A permanent four-person team is assigned to each client. This includes two consultants, one research analyst and one performance analyst. A member of the team is always available to respond to client questions and requests.
We endorse a generalist approach to consulting as opposed to a specialist approach pursued by many organizations. We require our consultants to be actively involved in all research activities so that they are well prepared to respond to clients as issues arise, rather than having to wait for another department to respond for them.
We do not delegate manager research to a separate group as many organizations do. We perceive manager research as too important to delegate to others, who often lack investment experience. All consultants at Ellwood Associates are responsible for conducting manager research and for formulating critical qualitative assessments regarding investment managers.
